Live Sermon Translation App for Spanish-Speaking Members

Sermon Translate turns the English sermon into Spanish captions while the pastor preaches, on the members' own phones or on a screen. An English-speaking church can welcome Spanish-speaking families into the same service instead of starting a second one.

When Spanish speakers are a few rows, not a whole congregation

Many English-speaking churches have a handful of Spanish-speaking families: a spouse, grandparents, new neighbors. They are too few for a Spanish service and too many to ignore. Spanish captions let them sit with everyone else and understand the same sermon.

  • Captions on their own phones, so the main screen stays in English
  • QR Code Join, included in every plan: scan a code, read in the browser, no account and no app
  • Or a small TV or second screen near their seats with the Subtitles screen

What Sermon Translate does in Spanish

Spanish works in both directions: a preacher can speak Spanish into the app, and members can read the sermon in Spanish.

  • Bible book names, church titles and doctrinal terms are built in for Spanish.
  • Verse popups can show the passage in Spanish, from a Bible edition in that language.

Spanish Bible verses when the pastor cites Scripture

When the pastor clearly names a passage or quotes a known verse, the popup shows it in Reina-Valera 1909, the Spanish Bible in the public domain.

Beyond Sunday morning

The same church can use Conversation Mode when the pastor visits a Spanish-speaking family: one phone, two languages, each half of the screen showing the other person's words translated. It is text, not a voice, so it suits a kitchen table better than a phone call.

How a church sets up Spanish captions for a service

One laptop, tablet or phone near the pulpit does the work. Give it clean sound from the sound desk or a microphone close to the preacher, sign in, choose the language being preached and Spanish as a reading language, and start. The room reads the captions on the projector through the Subtitles screen, online viewers see them in the livestream through the OBS overlay, and members who prefer their own phone scan a QR code with QR Code Join, included in every plan, and read with no account.

  • Before the service: add names, ministries and church terms to the glossary, and choose a Bible version for verse popups
  • During the service: keep the device on power and online; captions follow the preaching sentence by sentence
  • After the service: the transcript is saved to the account, and the Standard plan turns it into AI sermon notes

Do Spanish speakers need to download an app?

No. It runs in the phone's browser. Each reader needs their own account, and a plan once its free monthly hour is used, unless they scan the church's QR code (QR Code Join, included in every plan).

Can the main screen stay in English?

Yes. Readers can follow on their own phones, so nothing changes on the main screen.

What does it cost?

1 free hour every month with no credit card, then plans from $19.99 a month.

What does it cost to show Spanish captions every Sunday?

Every account gets 1 free hour every month of live translation, enough to test a full service. Basic is $19.99 a month for 12 hours and Standard is $34 a month for 30 hours. Free and Basic include one reading language, Standard includes two and All Languages includes every language. Each language beyond that uses another hour of plan time for every hour of the service.

Can an English sermon be translated into Spanish live?

Yes. Choose English, or the language your pastor preaches in, as the speaker language and Spanish as the reading language. Spanish can also be preached into the app, so a Spanish sermon can be read in English or another language.
